Tooth Whitening
Everybody loves a bright white smile.
there are a variety of products and procedures available to help you improve the look of yours. Many people are satisfied with the sparkle they get from daily brushing and regular cleanings at our office, but if you decide you would like to go beyond this to make your smile look brighter, we offer two whitening options.
Custom Tray Whitening
Peroxide-containing whiteners actually bleach the tooth enamel. They typically come in a syringe filled with gel, which is squirted into a mouth guard that has been custom-fabricated for you.
Pre-loaded Whitening Trays
We offer Opalescence Go®, a professional whitening gel delivered in prefilled, disposable trays. Opalescence Go features the enhanced UltraFit™ tray and can deliver dramatic results in as a little as 15 minutes per day. The UltraFit tray sets Opalescence Go apart with its unique material that warms with the temperature of the body, so that it comfortably molds and adapts to any patient’s smile for an even more effective and enjoyable whitening experience.
It should be noted that whiteners may not correct all types of discoloration. For example, yellow-ish hued teeth will probably bleach well, brownish-colored teeth may bleach less well, and grayish-hued teeth may not bleach well at all. If you have had bonding or tooth-colored fillings placed in your front teeth, the whitener will not affect the color of these materials, and they will stand out in your newly whitened smile. In such cases, whitening can be performed first and then tooth-colored fillings can be placed or replaced to match the shade of your whitened smile.
